The Newsmith cantilever bread depanner is designed to remove baked loaves from the pan as they move along the conveyor circuit, transferring the loaves to the hot bread conveyor. This is achieved by the depanner suction conveyor which is fitted with a series of silicone rubber vacuum cups; these cups are designed to lift the product, without causing damage to the product, as the conveyor is driven around its supporting drums.
The height of the suction conveyor may be adjusted to suit the installation and the size of the products which are being produced.
The suction box, around which the suction conveyor travels, is connected by a tubular duct to a motorised centrifugal fan/filter unit, which draws air through the vacuum cups in the lifting area. The suction box is fitted with a vacuum regulator designed to allow the vacuum to be adjusted to suit the product being baked, and prevent damage. The damper is located inside the suction box between two internal chambers. As the vacuum cups move from the pan conveyor to the product conveyor the suction is higher through the first chamber, this provides the initial suction to lift the product onto the suction cups. The damper reduces the fan suction from the second chamber to the level required to hold the product while preventing damage. After the product travels past the end of the second chamber the air drawn through the cups is cut off, so allowing the product to be released onto the product away conveyor.
